Get Rid Of That Moss

Power raking and de-thatching are the best ways to deal with the moss that likes to take over our rainy climate lawns.

Power raking pulls up stubborn moss which can be like a thick dense carpet. A moss control product is applied to the lawn a day or so in advance so that the moss is dead when we rake. This prevents the moss from spreading through airborne spores while we rake. The raking is done in 2 to 3 passes.

After raking, the soil is often exposed in spots which had high moss concentration. We recommend that your lawn is aerated, limed, fertilized and then reseeded and top dressed to enable lush, healthy grass growth.

De-Thatching is a less radical version of power raking for a moss infestation that doesn’t require as much intervention.
